What began as an ordinary evening drive ended in devastation, leaving nine people dead and twelve more injured in one of the region’s deadliest recent road accidents.
The victims included workers returning home to Ceará after long shifts away from their families — and among them was a name that shook fans across Brazil: a beloved regional singer whose music had carried hope and joy into countless homes. The Night of the Crash
According to the Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG), the collision occurred when a truck traveling at high speed crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. Investigators believe fatigue may have played a role, though forensic teams continue to piece together the full sequence of events.
“It was a determining factor,” explained expert Hugo Leonardo. “The skid marks, the drag patterns, and the deep grooves in the asphalt all indicate the truck invaded the opposite lane.” His voice was steady, but the weight of the tragedy hung heavy in every word.
Witnesses described a horrifying impact followed by chaos — headlights scattering, metal twisting, and cries for help echoing in the darkness.
