Tony Bauernfeind emphasized supporting her family and guiding the Academy through grief.

From Thrall High School in Texas to the Academy, Avery was “extraordinary,” excelling in academics, track and field, and leadership.

She planned to major in biology and minor in kinesiology, reflecting her love of science and movement.

Her track coach said she ran “as if she had wind beneath her feet.”

Avery’s life, though brief, left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
