Her family confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement shared by her mother, Roseanna. \u201cWhen there are no words. After a long, courageous and dignified battle, our hearts are shattered to tell you our beautiful Sao\u00edrse took her final breath in our arms,\u201d Roseanna wrote on Instagram. She also thanked supporters across Ireland who had kept Sao\u00edrse in their thoughts during her illness.<\/p>\n<p>Sao\u00edrse first became known to the public after appearing on The Late Late Toy Show. In 2019, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma after complaining of an injured ankle. The following year she underwent an amputation of her leg to remove the cancerous tumor. Despite her illness, Sao\u00edrse inspired many with her courage and positivity. She fulfilled several dreams during her life, including visiting Old Trafford to watch Manchester United and taking a special trip to Disneyland.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, her family shared that the cancer had returned, and she underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her lung. By late 2023, it had spread further, but her bravery continued to inspire people across the country. Irish President Michael D. Higgins expressed his condolences, saying Sao\u00edrse\u2019s strength and warmth had inspired many.<\/p>\n<p>Tributes poured in nationwide. T\u00e1naiste Miche\u00e1l Martin remembered her \u201cbeautiful smile,\u201d while broadcaster Ryan Tubridy said the country had lost a remarkable young person who touched countless lives.
