As disturbing footage from the incident spreads rapidly across social media, reactions have been swift \u2014 and deeply divided.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting occurred Wednesday morning, January 7, when federal immigration officers were conducting operations in Minneapolis. Video circulating online appears to show an ICE agent attempting to open the door of a woman\u2019s vehicle as she tries to drive away. Moments later, a second officer fires his weapon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The car can then be seen rolling forward before crashing into a parked vehicle.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-she-was-an-amazing-human-being\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018She was an amazing human being\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The woman was later identified by her mother as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. She\u2019s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-political-leaders-react-public-murder\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Political leaders react: \u201cPublic Murder\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>As the footage continued to circulate, condemnation poured in from Democratic lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u00a0described\u00a0the killing as a \u201cpublic murder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we saw today was a criminal murder a woman and shoot her in the head while she was trying to escape and flee for her life,\u201d she said, calling it the \u201cmanifestation of every American\u2019s worst nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey delivered an emotional and furious response during a press conference shortly after the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s little I can say, again, that\u2019ll make this situation better,\u201d Frey said. \u201cBut I do have a message for our community, for our city, and I have a message for ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo ICE, get the f\u2014 out of Minneapolis,\u201d he\u00a0raged.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The shooting of Renee Nicole Good has sent shockwaves across the United States.
