Music legend Barry Manilow has revealed that he\u2019s been diagnosed with lung cancer, forcing him to postpone his January tour dates as he focuses on treatment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But singer, known worldwide for hits like\u00a0Mandy<\/em>,\u00a0Copacabana<\/em>, and\u00a0Somewhere Down the Road<\/em>, won\u2019t undergo chemotherapy or radiation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ordered an MRI<\/h2>\n

In late December, Barry Manilow\u00a0shared<\/a>\u00a0that he has lung caner.<\/p>\n

The 82-year-old explained that the diagnosis came after a long battle with bronchitis. \u201cAs many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks,\u201d Manilow wrote. \u201cEven though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The scan revealed a \u201ccancerous spot\u201d on his left lung. \u201cIt\u2019s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That\u2019s the good news,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The star reassured fans that chemotherapy and radiation will not be part of his treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bad news is that now that the Christmas Gift Of Love concerts are over I\u2019m going into surgery to have the spot removed. The doctors do not believe it has spread and I\u2019m taking tests to confirm their diagnosis. So that\u2019s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and\u00a0I Love Lucy<\/em>\u00a0reruns.\u201d<\/p>\n

New update<\/h2>\n

Manilow\u2019s arena tour, originally set for January 2026 across nine U.S. cities, has been rescheduled to late February through April.<\/p>\n
