Sen. Mark Kelly has been on the front lines for the group of Democratic veterans against Donald Trump, urging military service members to disobey illegal orders the president has given. Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth responded, and the Pentagon soon after began an investigation over possible breaches of military law.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the Pentagon claimed that Kelly\u2019s statements interfered with the \u201cloyalty, morale, or good order and discipline of the armed forces,\u201d citing federal law that prohibits such actions.<\/p>\n
\u201cA thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
Donald Trump took to social media and lashed out against Sen. Mark Kelly and the other lawmakers, accusing them of \u201cseditious behavior.\u201d In a shocking development, Trump even promoted calls for their executions, a statement he later said wasn\u2019t a death threat.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,\u201d the president wrote, later adding, \u201cEach one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand \u2013 We won\u2019t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET. President DJT.\u201d<\/p>\n
